Vision 2009 -Vision 2008 – Summer / Fall Highlights

  • “Golf Good Times” 24th Annual Golf Tournament
    Golden Eagle hosted this fundraiser as we raised money for children suffering from cancer. Our members and their guests proved their commitment to community by selling out the event while the businesses not participating in the event donated time and resources including water coolers, storage totes, tents and Haney Sewing Sound contributed greatly by assisting us with the purchase of a highly coveted high resolution projector.

  • Chamber Fest – August 16
    Hosted at Planet Ice in the Curling rink, this event combined warm weather, a tasty chicken and salmon BBQ and a private classic rock concert with musical guests Chilliwack and the Headpins. Close to 500 people rocked out at this inaugural event which had people dancing and singing all night.

  • Small Business Week – October 20 - 25
    Guest speakers, networking, a tradeshow, and a conference highlighted a very busy week in the community.

    The luncheon, with special guest Minister of Transportation – Kevin Falcon, was a huge success as he updated the members on the progress of the new bridges and the Gateway transportation plan, played the new “Best Place on Earth” DVD, and announced a $16 million investment for road widening and improvements between Maple Ridge and Mission.

    On October 9th, the Minister of Small Business and Revenue – Kevin Krueger participated in the 20 year anniversary breakfast.

    The Small Business Conference at Fraserview Village Hall hosted 54 exhibitors who were able to network and listen to the wise words of Small Business Expert – Fiona Walsh. The event concluded with a mixer, sponsored by Jersey Joe’s Bar.

  • Business Excellence Awards – October 22
    This was the pinnacle event of the year for the business community. Hosted by Pitt Meadows Golf Course, this sold out event recognized twenty seven (27) nominees and honoured seven (7) very special award recipients.

  • The Ritz – November 22
    Building on the success and the history of the Ritz of the past, the 2008 version “Music for the Ages” mixed 130 people with great food and the music of legendary blues rocker Jerry Doucette. The silent auction raised money for the local Friends in Need Food Bank.
